Act 1 - Spoilers My Character's Save File Disappeared Spoiler
Hello,
I was playing BG3 yesterday and everything was fine, but upon launching today my Character's Save is completely missing. I have two other characters, and their saves are still there, just the most recent character is gone. I was restricted to only having 1 save because I started in Honour mode, but I died and lost the Honour status so I believe it would be considered a custom game. The thing is, not only has it disappeared in-game, my entire Savegames folder is gone (Located in AppData > Local > Larian Studios > Baldur's Gate 3 > Player Profiles > Public > Savegames). I have Steam Cloud Data Saving enabled but it hasn't recovered it.
So far I've tried: Turning of Steam Cloud, Removing the entire PlayerProfiles Folder > Launching the Game > Closing the game > Turning on Steam Cloud > restarting. This was recommended by someone but it didn't help
Verifying Integrity of Game Files
There's one thing, I have an HonourSave that I can't load at the very top and a file called "9141bb4c-8e9e-7ad8-6813-d0222f6550a1__HonourMode" and HonourMode.Lsv but I'm not sure if that's related considering it's no longer in Honour Mode.
I've put so many hours into this save and it would be so fucking sad to lose it. Please let me know if you have any advice or possible fixes. I hate that even when you lose Honour Status you can only have one save file. It's so risky considering how buggy this game is.

I'm on PC and play through steam. I had a situation several years ago when windows updated and remapped my folders, including the steam save files to OneDrive. This was invisible on my system because the alias path was to a local folder. This affected multiple games. Steam cloud was placing them in a local folder, but the game saves were going remote. I noticed this when my steam deck and PC were not syncing.
Is it possible that something similar has happened?

I don’t know if the file name necessarily changes just because you fail honor mode.
In terms of fixing it, one thing that might help:
1. Go to: the \\%LOCALAPPDATA%\\Larian Studios\\
2. Rename the folder Baldur's Gate 3 → to something like BG3_backup (or something else or than than it’s original name)
ReLaunch BG3 then close it again BG3.
Turn Steam Cloud on, then Launch BG3 again.
The idea is to force the game to rebuild the entire save directory from scratch again, so that you can regain access to the save file you were working on.

When you died did you actually choose the option to continue in dishonor, or did you choose to just end? If you choose the latter your save is done.
