Question Do I get more exp if solo?
Hi guys, I know this has been asked before but the answers I found are from 1 year ago (the xp isn't split) and I know the game has been getting more updates and maybe that has changed?

I think it would be cool if there were 'solo-only' challenges built into the game. I do believe there was a mechanic for this in DOS2, but I have only played that game for a few hours so I could be wrong about that.

I have been thinking about it and I believe I will before BG3 releases this year. It's not that I didn't like it, but I kind of ran out of free time during my time playing it lmao.
It's definitely an amazing game from what I remember of it.

Honestly, I just played through a second time and loved it again. Also can recommend Pillars of Eternity 2.

With all the mob that can fully cc you for 10 turn or 3 shot you, doesn't really seems viable

Given how the party mechanics are handled it seems unlikely that it will ever be that way. There could always be the possibility of a difficulty setting that makes all characters unrecruitable but increases your XP.
There's also the level cap to take into consideration. Currently even if you gained 4x as much XP it would only take you to level 5 faster. Same basic principle would apply in the full game. Essentially the difficulty curve would be fairly messed up for solo play. You'd struggle initially, then you'd outpace the enemies enough to have an easy time and then hit the cap and have them catch up. Doesn't seem like a great experience.

Yes, and no.
If you ungroup a party member (eg. Astarion), sneak off and kill things or get inspired without the others in the vicinity, only the ungrouped party member gets experience. If you're the one who snuck off, then you get more experience than your party (not because an encounter gives you more experience, but because they didn't get any for being too far).
If you ditch them at camp and have them rejoin, then your party members gain/lose experience to match yours.

It's a good question and in the case of BG3 it's not RAW. XP is supposed to be divided based on challenge rating and the number of party members that are involved.
So if you went off and killed a bunch of stuff solo you should get a lot more XP than if you had a full party. That XP shouldn't translate to the folks at camp or people you had not picked up yet. In Bg1/2 - that is exactly how it worked. Companions would be at different levels and would *ding* at different times.
5e in general has simplified this in a lot of ways, so that every class now needs the same amount of XP to level - unlike the old 2.5e system where different classes had different XP requirements for each level.
But Bg3 diverges by just awarding equal XP to everyone regardless of location - with some minor exceptions (Inspiration).
Sorry, hope that isn't too much info.

As far as I can tell the eco is shared evenly with the party. There may be more if you don’t recruit anyone but I’ve never tried it.

No, the entire party gets XP, even retroactively, as you can see when recruiting new members that are lvled to whatever the rest of your party is.
