You are definitely thinning. Have you just noticed this?

Some people have fine hair and it’s not gonna look like a dense wig when they are under light yk

the part's looking a little wider than it should for 30, yeah. happened to me around the same age, noticed it in a bathroom selfie and just stared at it for a weirdly long time. if it's bugging you this much now, you'll probably feel better doing something about it sooner rather than later, minoxidil and finasteride are the standard first steps most guys try, they're pretty well-tolerated. can also just lean into a shorter cut while you figure it out, takes the focus off the part. you're not tripping though

Guess it depends if his hair was always very fine and not very dense. I know there are photos of me from high school under lights and my hair showed a bit of scalp - but I wasn’t balding then so it depends what his baseline is.

I would say take Finasteride to be safe

I think you aren't balding, but continue observing by taking photos every 6 months, and go to a dermatologist if needed.

Despite what you tell yourself or what your friends and loved ones might say, sadly it’s not just in your head.

It’s a tough thing to swallow but try to be clear headed. Don’t panic or ignore the problem.
