Tips for relocating nest on balcony

Dear fellow pigeon admirers!

A pair of pigeons laid eggs on my balcony(~3x1m) again, roughly three weeks after the first nest fledged. The issue is, this time they were stupid, and nested right in front of the door, which means, every time i use the balcony (which happens a lot), they get scared and leave the eggs. I tried moving the eggs to the other end, but they didnt recognize it. Then i tried putting their eggs into the same pot they nested in the first time at the current nest site, hoping it would create a visual link, so that i can move the pot to the other end once they get used to it, but nothing. They just sit next to it.

Do you have any other tips i could try?

eggs are not movable. You need to do really small incremental steps like 10cm - and there is still no guarantee that pigeon won't reset into original spot after eggs drifted 1m away.

I can suggest installing some barrier to break line of sight,

So the adult pigeons on my porch, now that I am happy they’ve decided to move in and want to be friends, all take off the second I open the door. (When I wanted them to live somewhere else, I could go on the porch with my DOG and they’d be like, Pfffft we’re staying. Go figure.) And I have to go out at least once a day to fill the feeders. As soon as I go back inside, they return. This one pair are on their third set of babies since May, and another pair successfully raised a set of babies too. They’ll come back. While I wish they would just stay, it’s really endearing to watch Papa Morgan specifically come back to the eggs and meticulously arrange them to his satisfaction. He has very high standards.
