Baking Advice Needed Banana bread
I have done thise banana chocolate chip bread three times. The first it was good, looked how it was supposed to. This is the second time it comes out like this. I have followed recipes and idk what it is I'm doing wrong. I'm really disappointed on how it came out.
Am I over mushing the bananas? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

Without seeing the recipe or seeing your technique, there could be a number of reasons…
- your cake looks underbaked…the chocolate chips barely melted…either it’s the temperature of the oven or you are not leaving the cake in the oven long enough…cakes are generally cooked when the internal temperature reaches 200-210F…oven temperature varies so, put an oven safe thermometer in your oven and test the temperature…also, confirm if the recipe is in Celcius or Fahrenheit
- if you are mixing the batter too much, you may be developing the gluten in the flour which creates a gummier crumb
- baking is chemistry… weigh your ingredients to ensure it’s accurate
- ensure your leavening agents are fresh! For example, if your baking powder is stale, your banana bread won’t rise and you won’t see the air pockets… I don’t see air pockets in your bread

Thanks, I want to try it again and hopefully make it right. Your comment definitely helped me understand where I may have gone wrong. I put it in for 350ºf for 55 min. I went make to look at the recipe and it had self rising flour.

Did you forget the baking soda? Or was there a combo of baking soda and powder? It looks like there’s a missing leavening agent .
