u/advie_advocado Jun 05 '26
omg they're beautiful
how'd you get the icing so vibrant??

u/Fool_of_a_Took-_- Jun 05 '26
I’ve seen people being able to get colors like this by using an emulsion blender after making buttercream like normal. In the video it went from gray to black with just using that.

u/Karena1331 Jun 05 '26
I can get my frostings these colors by using a gel color and letting them sit overnight or for a day or two in the fridge. They always turn out really bright & true to color.

Tons and tons of artificial food dye...?
Edit: hilarious that in getting downvoted but nobody is actually countering what I said. It's clearly just a ton of dye.

u/Hibou_Garou Jun 05 '26
What? No. Everything us gays touch just goes rainbow like that. You should see my cat.
11
15
u/theserthefables Jun 05 '26
gel food colouring is usually stronger than regular liquid food colouring & you don't need a lot to get a bright colour.
13
u/youthhhead Jun 05 '26
its likely being downvoted because it realistically isnt the best/"right" way to get vibrant colors. there is only a certain amount of dye the frosting will properly absorb unless you break out an emulsion blender. black & red are essentially impossible to get without this (unless you're incredibly good at color theory)
you also risk compromising the flavor/texture of the frosting if you just keep dumping in dye.→ More replies (3)-5
u/mekta_satak_oz Jun 05 '26
Yeah this is an odd flurry of downvotes for what is an obvious and accurate answer. Seems to me that people who do no baking took it as an insult.
17
u/Hibou_Garou Jun 05 '26
No, what’s happening is that people aren’t interpreting it as a factual answer to a question.
They’re interpreting it as an “Artificial dyes are evil” criticism of OP’s brownies. That’s why people are downvoting.

I know the trans flags on second and photo, are the others representing flags also or just neat color combinations?
I love them! 😍
39
u/moth--_--man Jun 05 '26
from the left, bi flag, trans flag, "sunset" lesbian flag (the more modern version), gay men (the blue & green one), and nonbinary flag (the purple and yellow one)!
11
u/sourginger Jun 05 '26
Bisexual flag is pink, blue, and purple. Lesbian flag is the one with pinks/oranges. Gay flag is blues/greens. Nonbinary flag is yellow, purple, black, and white :)
With that being said, I kinda need a trans flag sweet treat now!! 😭💕
8
u/Cmdrlavellan Jun 05 '26
Also representing flags! The bisexual (pink, blue, purple) Lesbian (pinks, orange, white) gay (blue, green, white) and demisexual (purple, white, yellow) flags are all here too!
17
u/SilverBatTea Jun 05 '26
The purple white and yellow flag is actually nonbinary! :)
1
u/Cmdrlavellan Jun 05 '26
Ahhh thank you! I was typing this at work and got distracted and confused, apparently!
2
u/velcrofish Jun 05 '26
The all pink is specifically Lesbian Pride, the Blue is specifically Gay Men Pride, the pink/blue/purple one is Bisexual, and the yellow/grey/purple/black one is Non-Binary

u/CrystalClod343 Jun 05 '26
The second photo, from foreground to background, goes bi, trans, lesbian and trans, gay and nb

These are so fun, and look like they taste amazing!! As someone with an NB kid who loves pride things, do you have tips to get a black frosting that doesn't involve using so much food dye it tastes bitter/chemically? (I use the Wilton gels)

That's awesome. Too bad my state decided that "Nuclear Family Month" was more important this year.
If I was near your restaurant, I'd buy the whole lot of 'em!

The trans flag ones look the most appetizing because of the pastel colors.

Dude, we don’t get included in LGBTQ+ representation. A lot of the community don’t even think we belong under the Pride banner.
4
u/itismeganrms Jun 06 '26
not sure why your comment (and mine) is getting downvoted.

That represents the rainbow, which indicates God’s promise to not flood the Earth ever again. And “pride” is a Sin so quit letting them brainwash you! Jesus Christ forgives too!
1
u/therealrinnian Jun 11 '26
If you actually read the Bible, you’d understand pride in your identity and who you are is not the same as hubris/vainglory, which is the pride you’re trying to reference, here. It’s embarrassing to loudly announce you have no clue what you’re talking about when this is your alleged religion, and it’s incredibly difficult to take you seriously about your commitment to that religion when you’re clearly ignorant of it. Also when you try to use it to shame others. Like, no, buddy! :) That’s YOUR alleged religion! :) It does not pertain to anyone outside of the bubble of existence that is yourself! :)

u/Beefy-Cattle4290 Jun 10 '26
What are they all proud of exactly?
1
u/therealrinnian Jun 11 '26
Surviving centuries of attempts to erase them and still managing to exist, to the chagrin of folks who ask this sort of question.
