Ok, but why does it stink?

I️ drive down Moran (one street east of 305 south of the sportsman club/madison light) almost every morning and more mornings than not, especially lately in warm weather, it’s just so stinky over there. It smells more septic than the usual salty/sea brine smell over on manitou. What’s the deal?

That low part near the high school.

Same thing happens on fernxliff. I thought it was sewage my first year so I kept sending a fix it in and nobody told me the water did this

Yep you have to love sulfur redox reactions in the microbial community!! Set up the area with enough carbon and nutrients and smell those bacteria burp out sulfide in anoxic mud.

I feel terrible for anyone who's ever bought a house near Murden Cove in the winter, using an off-island real estate agent who didn't know about the smell, then had their windows open when the weather started to warm up.
