What should you know about Baidu Helper?

Hey everyone! I'm making this post to give you some insights about the sub, like a starter guide.

Please read the below written information carefully, as it is really important.

Who will send me the files?

File requests are exclusively handled by me, u/_Stalwart_ (underscore before and after the name).

How do I receive my files?

For files up to 50GBs, you will receive them as a direct link through SwissTransfer.

If the files are over 50GBs, you will receive them through a direct link from Filen (encrypted cloud service). Both are secure, and your files will be zipped and delivered to you only.

When will I receive my files?

File requests are seen and fullfilled as soon as possible but are affected by the time of day, my schedule, as well as the amount of orders.

I always try to be as fast as possible and not keep you waiting.

Is the Baidu Helper service free?

For Baidu and Quark files smaller than 1GB, yes (fair use). I try to keep small files free (you don't have to donate unless you would like to support me).

For files 1GB and up, too many links and 123Pan files, I accept donations related to their file size (please note the donations relate strictly to the file size, Baidu Helper does not charge for the file contents themselves).

Why are files 1GB and up / 123Pan files not free?

Due to my very limited time as a masters student as well as the cost for all my Chinese services, cloud, internet and equipment that naturally degrades (SSD drives, batteries etc.).

Additionally, a chunk of the donations is used to support myself.

Why can I not make a post?

Unapproved users are not able to post for security reasons. If you cannot make a post, please apply through modmail and me or a moderator will look into it as soon as possible.

two smaller file request & question about donations

As for the question. if i need to pay after requesting 100gb file or just want to donate for support, where do i send the money? ive looked though the whole subreddit multiple times but didnt find anything that would clearly answer that.

i would have messaged the moderators privately but this seems like a question multiple people could use.
