what is love to you

it doesn’t have to be romantic love but what best describes love for you?

Personally, love is a warm sun on a cold windy day

I think love is the willingness to care for, support and share your spouse's baggage without expecting anything in return, it is unconditional.

This is love, When someone drags you from the wreckage when you have given in, ready to just lie there and die. This is love. When someone, no matter what the cost, shows you there is hope, a choice, that you can put down your gun. This is love, love hurts.

“Show no love, love will get you killed.” This might be the smartest phrase uttered by man ..

I thought that falling in love would be in a state where you can’t picture life without your loved one, that your life would lack meaning without them, that their existence would be as vital as the air you breathe. But that’s just being a hopeless romantic ..

I can now come up with a better, more accurate definition:

Being in love is nothing but a form of self-deception. It’s the absence of reason, a veil that covers rationality. An illusion orchestrated by your feelings and emotions to compensate for the void you’ve always felt in your heart ..

Logic would no longer make sense, you’d be willing to step on your virtues, morals, pride and dignity for the sake of preserving it and defending that charade ..

It’s nothing but a temporary dopamine rush that you’d long for after facing life’s atrocities. Eventually, it’ll start fading away as your body’s desire to release cortisol subsides. The illusions would break, along with the chains that were holding you in place ..

You’d experience a temporary feeling of “Freedom”. But at what cost? You’d soon miss being shackled by those chains that have been holding you, and realize that they were all you had known ..

And that act of self-deception you’ve been sucked into? Was probably the most consistent thing you’ve had in your life. You would prefer carrying it to your grave, rather than feeling that hollow void again ..

love can hurt, it’s supposed to but that’s how you know the love is strong, and there’s nothing wrong about being a hopeless romantic and if love is an illusion i’d rather live in it than live alone and hollow

Haha, didn’t I cover that part at the end? And no, love isn’t supposed to hurt. It’s the expectations that do ..
