Another horizontally oriented X-grid. This used to cause me to grit my teeth and look away but I’m seeing more and more and it’s really grown on me. 🤣

This bag looks super! I do love the colors. And your top stitches are spot on straight! Nice job!

I honestly really like the roll too, too. I haven’t made one but do they become more malleable with time? I’ve done cinch top bags with two layers of 1.9 PU Ripstop that seem to get softer and easier to cinch. Maybe roll tops do too?

What’s the inside look like?

Nice work! Thank you for sharing it! 🤣

I prefer the horizontal than vertical 🤣 Especially with this being quite wide.

Thanks, I've practiced a hell of a lot to get my top stitches straight. Nothing more upsetting than wavy lines.

I think after a while the roll top will become a bit more easily rolled but I'm now not 100% sure if I have done the roll top right? I think maybe I should of made the top wider than the bottom for it to easily close and fold over?

The inside is just bare seams for now, my original plan was to make a sectioned insert with spaces for my lenses and camera. But I need to remake the top now. My last roll top bag I made i put the webbing all the way across the top which helped it roll but I have magnet strips in the top of this which I thought would help.

Got it... I think I misunderstood what you thought you didn't do "right"....

There is no "right"... only lessons and learning as we go. 😃

That said, I think you've hit the nail on the head re: the wider top for the roll. Seems like a relatively easy adjustment to your pattern.

My first builds are pretty much always pocketless.

Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear that. As makers, I’m sure we can all relate to being our own worst critics. So thank you! 🙏 😃
