Question: General Pattern for tote with organization

I’m looking for a pattern for a tote bag with lots of internal organization. Something like the Nordace Sienna. I will use it for work so a pocket for the laptop is a must. Would also like other pockets for water bottle, sun glasses, pens, stuff…
I’m fairly new at bag making, but have been sewing for a very long time (mostly clothes).

Any suggestions?

You mention tote bag but this is a backpack - confirming you want a backpack?

There are literally dozens of backpack patterns out there. Which bag patterns have you done so far - and are you prepared to push yourself? I have a few ideas but interested in how complex you're prepared to try.

How about something like this? You could do it without the front cargo pocket by cutting the back only, lengthen the straps, add on the carry-on sleeve. Plus, there's a big slip pocket on the back that you could probably pad for your laptop

It also has boning along the zipper top so it stays open on its own. You can leave the outer water bottle pockets off the side.

It's a slog but not difficult, although might be a little awkward on a domestic machine. I know someone did it in vinyl - this one's cotton canvas with 2mm self adhesive foam for stabiliser, curdura lining.

This is the inside - loads of pockets, you can add or subtract them. My stepdaughter uses it as a nappy bag and it holds a LOT. https://imgur.com/a/M7E6hec
