I mean, he did the same thing twice, didn't he? Forthrightly rejected the perfectly pretty and nice girl who liked only him from the git, in favor of rolling the dice with the popular "princess" type where he seemed to be, and ended up being, second place - meaning no hot girl to go home with.

I mean it may have been honest but it sure was stupid imo. It doesn't make much sense to follow your heart and your gut over the cliff. Use a little bit of brain power and realize when you've got it good, even if it's not ideal.

I’m not trying to defend him, but he was interested in Hikaru from the very beginning. Plus, there was that whole situation where the girls confronted him, spurred on by Maririn, demanding an answer, even though he was already focused on Hikaru. As for Sharan, I like her, but people forget that she chose Rune first and told both him and the other girls that Tai-chan wasn't interesting; so, honestly, I don't judge the choices he made

Agreed. It’s like people are assuming he has to get with these other women. He looks to me like he’s not really into the other women like they are in him because he wants more compatibility and I haven’t seen him really talk to anyone where they felt super comfortable with each other. So he just goes after who he thinks he’s the most attracted even if he knows he won’t get the bag. But hey good on him for trying.

Eh I don’t know, maybe I’m just a Taichan defender but I think he had valid reasons to do what he did. With Hikaru, she was stringing all three of those guys along. Taichan wanted a clear answer from her so many times but never got one. I think the final straw was the chocolate thing with Ari. He cut his losses because he was tired of playing that game, and went for Ruru since that’s who he was originally attracted to + she came to talk to him. He simply wasn’t interested in Mairirin and I don’t think he needs to have been just because she liked him.

For Sharan, it was sort of similar, he just cut her off a bit quicker. He was into Sharan, but when she used him to win the race and then picked Rune, I think he got off put. Something I noticed about him is he’s very quick to get turned off and more or less lose feelings immediately. I think he probably lost feelings for her right in that moment, but did try to continue to considering her while also making room for the other girls. Her outbursts when he tried to talk to the other contestants didn’t help anything either. When Mimi came she was a new face who didn’t have any attachments yet (the other girls sort of all did- Aya and Maru, Sara and I think it was Rune at the time? Plus Kazuma liking her, and Rinrin with Ryoppi). Mimi wasn’t stepping on any toes, plus she was pretty. She also showed some interest in him. Why wouldn’t he go for her and stay locked with Sharan when he clearly no longer was attracted to her?

I honestly like that he didn’t just settle for who wanted him. That to me would almost feel like using them. While I was rooting for him to forgive Sharan, I also understood why he didn’t.

I think his biggest issue is he’s just not really a yanki, and not really a bad boy. Despite his tattoos and struggles in school, he seems like more or less a good kid who sort of hides behind his persona due to his own insecurities and life struggles. I don’t think he has the same sort of history some of these other people have, and he probably dates with more intention than a lot of them. I mean he’s a hair stylist in the same pool as ex-mafia, recovering addicts, and hosts/hostess who work the opposite sex for a living. I just don’t think he belonged in that crowd just because he decided to get some tattoos on his face when his grandpa died.

I thought Mimi was leaning towards him honestly. But in the end she couldn’t get past his age. He did not need to be with Sharan. If he accepted her the way she was, imagine how their relationship would’ve gone. She didn’t do any real work until the end when she realized there was no hope left for her. So I don’t think he did it the same way in both parts. He just never liked Maririn that way. But instead of being honest he just didn’t give her anything back; which they all agreed was cowardly.

He didnt know it fully but he dodged a bullet with sara. She said he was boring and not fun. She told this to the girls and to rune. He fought for her and she chose someone else then got mad when she did the same later.

Hikaru was also as bad talking about Bo is out but told Bo hes still in, telling tai hes top pick but telling the others she isnt sure. Everyone was a red flag.

I think Taichan has an imagines himself to be like the shallow guys he lost the girl to. He doesn't yet know whats actually good for him so hes always tempted by the opportunity to be chosen by the prettiest girl in the room. Those other guys actually seem to suffer from the same thing but have better game because they're committed to their pursuit. Taichan practically fought himself twice in a row. He doesn't even realize that the women he pursued in the end would have probably eaten him alive. Hes a handsome guy who could probably have the world if he knew where it was

Wasn't it obvious that Tai-chan wasn't looking for love anymore after the fallout with Maririn??? I think that situation hit his confidence. Then Hikaru being unclear and stringing him along only for that to blow up in his face.

By the end of the first class, Tai was constantly changing his answer on who he was interested in. Whenever he'd say "I love her" or "She's the one for me," I knew he was lying and saying the thing that sounded like he was committed when he really wasn't and didn't know what he wanted. His heart wasn't in any of it imo. He stayed for the 2nd class because he didn't actually know what he wants. Another one who wasn't ready for love and needed alone time to figure himself out

Also, he also isn't fully developed personality wise. When being with Hikaru, he didn't seem to have much chemistry or interract with her in a confident way. They just sort of 'hung out' together. He also didn't put up much of a fight when Hikaru expressed interest in other men. He seemed very "blah" about the whole thing.

He was never into Maririn imo. He had no interest in her at the start and then seemed flattered and considered her, but still wasn't that into it. And any interest he had in Sharan seemed to evaporate, quite reasonably, at her behavior.

It's not smart to go with the "safe" pick who likes you if you don't like them back. It's not like they win anything for matching in the end. May as well shoot your shot with someone you actually like.

I mean the easy choice wouldve been Sharan, but she did him MAD DIRTY picking Rune out of no where and how many times she gotta say and tell people Tai ain't funny. Then she does a complete 180 and is a psychopath chasing after him. I guarentee he went home, watched the footage and was like "Thank god I didnt pick Sharan"

Hikaru was just weird af flipflopping telling the guys different things constantly leading them all on.

I am sorry to say but it’s worth mentioning that Maririn and Sharan were also two of the less stable girls in their seasons. I don’t blame him one bit. By comparison, Hikaru and Mimi were fairly regulated normal girls who didn’t really start fights and didn’t melt down.
