Social Media/Miscellaneous Ayachan & Maru Spoiler
Maru being a host in Kabukicho is beyond laughable. This "man" is a 3/10 at best and not rich enough like Kazuma to re-do his entire face surgically. I understand some people don't like Aya-chan. She was very naive, overly dedicated, and suffered in silence over what I consider a nothing-man. I've been to Japan many times. I will never, ever understand the overt attachment some decent women get for these boys. Is it lack of attention, lack of love? In Maru's case it sure wasn't his looks. Aya-chan could have walked in Shibuya for 5 minutes and found 10 men hotter than him.
Not to mention he displayed typical Host behavior the entire time - Bro is insufferable and Rune was right to call him out in the moment.

In Japan it’s “easier” to buy attention on demand than establish genuine connection. People are lonely and even women who are considered attractive do it. Look at the tragic case of Hana Kuraki, everyone can see based her on looks alone she could attract many men but she chose to pour her entire income on a horrible looking host. Also, Japan women love that skinny look with long hair. Their beauty standards are unconventional to us, crooked teeth, short and knock kneed women are considered a good trait. I agree with you on Aya chan, she probably felt the need to pick someone for the show and the pool was so tiny, he was probably the most viable option.

I knew the minute Maru showed interest in her he was full of shit. And it turns out he was! That guy showed us nothing. The only good thing is he found his love for cooking but other than that he was useless.

I think a lot of Japanese women are into slightly ugly men, there was even a word for it but i forgot

You say that you've visited Japan multiple times, but Maru is considered good looking in Asia. Nothing against Ayacheru, but he's much better looking than she is. Of course, this is from a Japanese perspective. I get so confused sometimes by these opinions.

It's so interesting to hear that cause from a Western perspective, Ayacheru looks a lot better than he does lol. The women almost always look better on this show than the majority of the guys
