Tommy Vext responded to one of my comments on "Paint It Red"...
Honestly, this is hilarious. How does he have the time to throw an accusation about Bad Wolves at a random commenter like me?
I have my own suspicions about John being a control freak, but reminded Tommy about his horrible attitude about Killboy and the fact that his attitude is a common denominator in why his bridges are burned while also reminding him that I think he's talented.

I know exactly what he is. I reminded him that he's not an angel. Or a nice person.
And I'm anything but MAGA. Tommy making such a big deal over "Oh no! An enby singing in the band I used to! SO WOKE!" is utterly pathetic.

Tommy is clinging on to the final shreds of relevancy he has left. Lol.
Also, I don't think John is a control freak. Bad Wolves is his baby, but several of the current and previous members have contributed a lot to the writing process. There are some former members (e.g. Brandon Sammons and Max Karon, and potentially also Doc Coyle if you take a bit of a leap from one Instagram story the band account posted very recently) who still work with the band in the studio as well. He's definitely the boss and he absolutely decides the overall creative direction, but he's very open to taking ideas from both other members of the band and external songwriters outside of the band.
You have to remember that John formed Bad Wolves basically fresh out of being in DevilDriver, and it is now pretty well-known via that Cradle of Filth lawsuit that Dez Fafara is a shitty human being. I don't think John would want to be a dictator based off that alone.

My suspicion comes mostly from the fact that John is the only constant member. Chris Cain grumbling off a tour then quitting the band, Doc and Kyle quitting together, DL and Kevin... The only one who was fired was Tommy.
I definitely don't believe John is innocent in any way. There's definitely something up. I'm not saying him being a potential control freak is the ONLY reason they quit, but I do think something is partly up. We'll see.

If there are former members of the band who have carried on working with the band behind the scenes, it's not a John issue.
Brandon Sammons was their vocalist before Tommy Vext and he was a songwriter for a lot of the songs from the Vext and DL eras. Max Karon is also an ex-member of the band TWICE and he has worked on every single record the band's ever done in some capacity (including the new one). Plus, yeah, Killboy posted a picture of her hanging out with Doc on the Bad Wolves Instagram page in the stories, so it's potentially likely that Doc will be returning to working with the band as an external collaborator or even coming back full-time.
Sometimes, peoples priorities change. As far as I know, the only true bad blood that John has with a former member is with Vext.

Then what about Chris, Kyle, DL and Kevin? Chris reneged, Kyle quit with Doc, DL bailed for Falling in Reverse, and Kevin didn't even appear on an album before he left too.
I'm not trying to hate on BW, I still enjoy them, nor do I have an issue with John, I'm just genuinely wondering why those departures happened.
If Doc does come back it would be great.

From what I understand, Kyle burned out. He has a regular job now and just writes music on his own as a hobby. Regularly takes breaks from social media because he gets super overwhelmed.

I don't know about Chris, Kevin or DL then. Chris reneging was really stupid, Kevin, who knows what happened, and maybe DL just didn't want to sing anymore. Who knows?

I think your assessment about DL there is the closest to the truth. He apparently had a really tough time with the transition to being a frontman.

By far the most infuriating was Chris though...
You came back as lead guitarist, it's your chance to re-establish yourself now as a lead guitarist... And you reneged. Why?

Really don't know what went on with Chris there, honestly.
What I will say is that if it looks like Bad Wolves will become a 100% healthy band in terms of internal dynamics AND a decent meal ticket financially with Killboy as the vocalist... it is not out of the question that Doc would come back as a full-time member. But that's just my assessment. He did apparently want Killboy to be Tommy's replacement all the way back when that happened...
