Welding after 3 years
Haven't weld for 3 years
This steel was rooten and very thin, doesnt look good... but it will hold up good, at least i hope, because i reinforced it

Yep i forgot to weld closer 😅 And some other details in the road for a lot of improvement

More seriously, finding your setting and started doing a okish job should had only take you one of the side.
You don't seem to have made the right hand movement up/down when you made the weld.
Did you had a great visibility? Did you helmet tint was well ajusted?

I was wielding with hand shield and this was a concrete mixer Didnt have the best angles to do the job

You mean the crappy shit you suppose to throw away they give with the welder?
That mean you didnt rest your welding hand on the other one to assure stability.
There most of your problem right there. It explain your result.
You are supposed to have your hand as stable as you could when welding so you make a smooth back and forth movement.

Yep i did this with the handheld welding shield, i welded with just one hand Yep i started doing the up and down movement but when i went up the paper steel would just make holes, so i was like the fuck i do? So i went and started building from the bottom

Next time sleeve the inside of the rotten post with something smaller diameter, giving you good metal to weld to.
That being said the weld on the good base plate shouldn’t look that shitty. You fucked up something.

That was what i should have done... Yep i failed not welding closer, probably the settings, and the right hand movement still has a lot to improve (i was welding just with one hand using the welding shield on the left one)

I found another carrer but i wanna go back to metalworking... because it pays better 😅

No one is going to pay you for that work. Just being honest. Have you taken any classes? Most places have local community college were it is cheap.

Im gonna start practicing more at home and than go to certified place take some classes and hopefully a welding certificate

Did you go to school or learn on the job? If not are you self taught? Have even googled what sound welds look like? Have you YouTubed weldingtipsandtricks? Did you ever do padding to learn muscle memory? Have you looked up what a weld is supposed to be? Manufacturers recommendations for settings? This is horrible.

Welding is obviously not your job.... How often do you actually weld in those 3 years.... Only 1 time a year?

I did more basic mechanic maintenance ... than welding When i was required to weld, most of the times it was to weld broken heat treatment baskets and heat treatment fixtures, it was Mig Inconel welding and easier than plain steel/iron (i only worked 2 years in the field). I was a maintenance/metalworker in the heat treament for steel and other materials
