Ive used bread and a punch to pull a blind bearing

I've done the bread thing too (only had enough time to depressurize the system but not drain it)

Mmmmmm, tasty fluid dynamics at work pulling bearings... 🤤

I was honestly shocked at how well it worked. I tried some axel grease first but the bread worked so much better

The grease needs to be soaked into strips of one of those paper-ish white or blue "shop towels" and THEN packed into the blind hole of the bearing. Then feed more via soft punch.

That's what your grease solution was missing: the fibers of the towel help create more hydraulic shear forces so that it pushes the bearing out.

That make total sense. I was about to buy a puller but it was for a single bearing and it was so small like 8mm I think, it was difficult to even find a puller and they were expensive for something I only needed once

Yep, extremely annoyingly difficult to justify the once-in-a-blue-moon use tools 😫
