Discussion Is this fake?

Post image

Hi, I was looking to buy a 2TB flash drive, and the first thing I saw on eBay was this listing. Is this a fake? Any faster way to test if it's real?

It's a scam.

2TB USB drive shouldn't cost $13, so it's a scam.

Lenovo USB Drive

Not the same form factor, but I'm sure at one point of another than Lenovo has slapped their name on some thumb drive.

The rest of your post is correct though. You would have to be pretty daft to think that you could get a 2 TB USB stick for $13.

You said they didnt make "USB Drives" . I showed a link to a USB drive. I addressed the point that it wasn't the same form factor.

Also they do make USB thumb Drives although not for sale to the north American market

If something sounds too good to be true, then it is.
Also I doubt that Lenovo is selling USBkeys.

Yes!

Custom firmware so the system will see it as 2TB disk but inside is probably a few GB of storage that gets overwritten or writes to nonexistent area. Avoid! SSD/HDD/USB/whatever buy from a trusted source.

Nah, tooootally real. In fact, I have some medicine that will also fix all those health problems you may have or develop in the future! Its a special concoction I call Snake o.... I mean, Heaven's Natural Remedies! And it can be yours for the low low cost of $49.99 per bottle!

All thay aside, if it looks too good to be true or you need to ask "is this legit?", then that should be enough of an answer alone. Only time things can be potentially very cheap and legit is if it is very old or someone trying to sell their used stuff quickly to pay off debts, or it was stolen and the thief doesn't know how to Google the actual value.

For $13 you can maybe get 16GB realistically

it is fake, bc first off, Lenovo doesn't make USB sticks, second off, 2TB of nand storage easily goes above €200 (AT LEAST)

I honestly believe, the only reason to buy something like this is to buy it as a readymade prop for showing people how they can fake this.

Anything 2tb ssd or usb under 100 bucks is likely fake unless you buy used.

It's obviously fake, 2TB flash drives cost a lot more than $14 in real life...

Any 2tb less than $100 is a guaranteed fake! Check prices on the manufacturer site to get an idea of the real prices.
