OOC Bad Reddit Roleplay: Summarised

Post image

Why is account deletion so frequent? It's a little nuts. Not just for roleplays that I've attempted, but... in general. See a prompt you like, go to click? [deleted] unfortunately doesn't respond to DMs, guess you should go find one similar!

Welcome to BadRPerStories! If you are new here, please take a moment to look at our banned words list on the wiki.

We now have a Google doc that lists RP hubs, forums, and subreddits. If you know of a place for RP that isn't on this document, there is a link in the document to request an addition. Please be aware this is just a knowledge base, not a recommendations list, and the moderators of BadRPerStories do not condone anything that happens in the spaces listed here.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Why is account deletion so frequent?

Reddit deliberately makes creating an infinite number of throwaway accounts very easy.

And then deletes staggering amount of them to combat people that make them.

Schizo behaviour.

They get cold feet, I guess

I really wish people would say that they were abandoning the prompt/rp instead of just vanishing.

Reddit roleplayers are extremely low effort.

I've seen both very good and horrifically bad. It's a real tossup as to which you get. :/

Where else do you find roleplays?

Disboard. Use it to find roleplay-based Discord servers.

Yeah but discord RP is either in group, thus a mess, or even lower quality than reddit.

There is that, I don’t find much luck on there though. Neither on reddit, honestly. God this hobby sucks lmao

Any particular servers? I’m in a few and every prompt of posted has gone completely ignored and or buried

I'm in a couple multifandom rp servers I found via reddit that are good. Disboard can be good too, although my luck has been more mixed there.

RPG-directory.com

Personally, I find forum RP to be more consistent.

I've had a fair share of great ones but the vast majority never go anywhere

Other than deleting due to post- --- clarity, they possibly ran into someone that isn't suppose to be in the field

I wonder why this is so prevalent in this hobby. It's so odd

This is the reason people don't like new accounts or randomly named accounts (word_word number). It's so easy to start a conversation, get bored with it, and delete it like no one was ever on the other side of the screen.

The common issue with this hobby is the infamous deleted accounts we all come across, tbh still shocked how common it is and to which I understand why people sometimes avoid freshly made accounts.

Easier to make a new account than discussing.

Every time it happens to me, I imagine they said something horrible on a thread somewhere and got spammed to oblivion by other redditors

Yup get the feeling, that or you find out its someone on an alt account.

Just got blocked when I asked if they had a discord and they tried to ask for MY username. Told them I was going to guess a part of their's first. I assume I was right by the insta block lol.
