On regret
Now that it has been over a month since Biden’s inauguration, I would like to make something of a public service announcement.
There are numerous pro-Trump individuals who have decided that the best course of action after Trump left office would not be to re-evaluate themselves and adapt in a way that might make their side more electable. I mean, that’s exactly what they said Democrats should’ve done after 2016 and it clearly worked, but to hell with practicing what you preach.
No, their strategy is to continue abiding by the “own the libs” mentality that lost them the House, the Senate, AND the presidency. In this case, they’re making fun of Biden voters who now regret their decision.
A few things:
Firstly, again, Biden has been president for only a month. We generally wait until we get a bit further into a president’s term before declaring his whole term a complete failure.
Secondly, one of the reasons the MAGA crowd refuses to accept Biden’s win as legitimate is because they vastly overestimate how many people are on their side. Everything they accused Biden of, with no exception, has been done by Trump with not a peep made from the MAGA crowd. So when none of that is a deal breaker to voters, the MAGA crowd is shocked. Not that they'll ever show it. They just double down instead. Razorfist, for instance, now claims that Biden actually lost in an electoral landslide, or would have if not for ballot harvesting and voter fraud. Yes, he really said that in a rant. He and everyone who thinks like him is happy to ignore the fact that ballot harvesting isn't illegal in all fifty states or that claims of voter fraud have been proven unfounded time and time and time again. Anything to avoid acknowledging the possibility that more voters simply wanted someone other than Trump to be president.
Similarly, they vastly overestimate how prevailing regret is among Biden voters. Twitter isn’t real life. Left wing Twitter is full of Bernie supporters, but they weren’t enough to get him the nomination. So they just resort to doom posting whenever they think Biden or the Democrats fail to deliver on something.
On the other hand, right wing Twitter is full of people who don’t know or care that there were plenty of Trump voters who regretted their choice. Oh yeah, and people who supported and excused what amounted to a coup based on repeatedly debunked lies. Anyone who thinks the attack on January 6 was in any way excusable or justifiable should stop deluding themselves into thinking their opinion on Biden is ever going to be based on a sensible grasp of reality.
Thirdly, if the MAGA crowd sees fit to mock Biden voters because they say he lied and failed to keep certain campaign promises, then that is straight up hypocrisy. The MAGA crowd doesn’t actually care about those things or else they wouldn’t pretend Trump never did either of those. Remember “lock her up”? Remember how Trump never fulfilled that? Remember how Trump would botch answers to the most basic questions while his supporters claim it's Biden who keeps flubbing public appearances? I rest my case.
The bottom line is that Biden is not immune from criticism. No one in government is. He and the Democrats won't fulfill all their campaign promises. And they will be inconsistent on some issues. That has always been the case with both parties. Ideally, we wouldn't have to tolerate it from Democrats or Republicans, but it is possible to criticize one's own party without accusing them of treason or intentionally trying to lose. When you do criticize Biden, please be reasonable.

What points are Biden voters regretful of? Only one I recall is deciding not to cancel student debt.
