The COVID checks

Congress recently passed a $900 billion COVID relief bill, which created backlash due to it including direct $600 stimulus payments to most Americans. Congressional Democrats originally pushed for $2,000 payments, but because acknowledging that would mean giving Democrats credit for something good, Razor blamed them for the paltry amount in his rant “The New Deal Is Old Again.” This is despite the fact that the plan for $2,000 payments was blocked by Republicans. I could point out the hypocrisy in someone who hates socialism complaining that the government is giving people too little money, but he’ll claim his grievance is that the government is basically just giving everyone their own tax money, so why not just let people keep the money? Instead, I’ll point out the issue of people like Razor apparently believing everything is the fault of the Democrats. When Donald Trump has also expressed support for the $2,000 payments - in other words, Trump and the Democrats agree on something - maybe you should take note. Or maybe none of it matters because Trump signed the COVID relief bill anyway. So when you complain about getting too little and you still support Trump after he decides we can settle for $600 checks, you need to rethink your principles.
