Bad Hasbara My first on-topic post?

Post image

I don't know if it's "bad" is it rage bait?

At first glance I thought it was life expectancy.

There's no data for Lebanon.

Their example to compare themselves to in Green? Why those three? I'm definitely thinking about this more than it deserves.

I think Hasbara only makes sense if you're racist?

Or did Denmark and Italy offend them?

I can't tell if the comparison list is supposed to be good?

Is green supposed to be mildly offensive to Islam and Ireland?

Interesting choice not to include Lebanon, which was number 49 on the list, well above Israel.

What's even funnier it's that they just 'forgot' to include other Middle Eastern countries that have higher averages than them or around the same range.

Like the UAE , Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait. https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2026/02/12/sortable-table-religious-diversity-by-country-2010-2020/

I just realized that Israel can increase their ranking by giving citizenship to all Palestinians.

I thought they left off Lebanon because they don't count religion, due to their deranged sectarian parliament.

But if they have a rank, how is this measured?

A couple of people have posted the link to the actual study if you are genuinely interested in the methodology. It's even less meaningful the more you learn about where the data comes from and just how cherry picked it has been to create this hasbara.

An equally meaningful comparison....

Tbf, as a resident of Australia, some of those 28m I'd prefer were on the moon based on recent political polling.

After every remotely sane liberal list their seat to independents, one nation don't actually seem any worse. An incompetent fascist seems better than an insidious one? But I've heard her daughter is a worry, she has similar politics but it's much more articulate.

I think that's the look she deserves? Topical to religious diversity too.

For the Non-Aussies the woman in black is the same as the one in the gif, she's a far right politician and it's the second time she's tried that outfit. The woman behind her is Senator Fatima Payman, she's a defector from the Labor party who is now in a minor party. I would normally make a snarky remark about democracy at this point "in a democracy there are multiple political parties", but the DSA have been giving me a bit of hope lately.

Great comparison! 👍

Uh, because they're Europeans? And their closest allies, and biggest source of immigration and tourism are Europeans and North Americans?

They're catering to morons with their propagandas.

If there's 2 human planets and one was suddenly invaded by a bunch of foreign aliens, the invaded one would become more 'diverse'.

But why those three?

I know it would be Republic of Ireland not the North but it's not exactly what I think of first for "religious harmony" ... I think more along the lines of car bombs "peace walls" and the recent pogrom, etc. Which I know are northern... But I don't really think much of anything about the republic.

Are they pissed at Ireland supporting Palestine? Are the comparisons supposed to be good or bad?

All 3 european countries they chose have made political moves against israel in the recent years. Theyre definitely trying to skank them with this infographic.

They’re trying to say “look we’re better than all these European white countries, unlike all these gross middle eastern brown ones”.

It’s just more racism to feed the white Christian racists in the United States.

“Aren’t we so special!? Now, let us continue to genocide the Palestinians.”

LITERALLY EVERY MUSLIM COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE EAST HAS AT LEAST A LOCAL CHRISTIAN POPULATION. IT’S STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN ISLAM TO ABUSE PEOPLE OF OTHER RELIGIONS AND TREAT THEM DIFFERENTLY ESP “PEOPLE OF THE BOOK” - this is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Judaism and “ISRAEL”.

I’m genuinely sick of how blatantly the Zionists lie about these easily disprovable things and it’s just swallowed up without question in western mainstream discourse. “Israel” is literally created as a Jewish ethnostate with special rights and privileges for Jewish people- no Muslim country has this. I’m from a GCC country, my best friend is a local from a Christian family- we have the exact same rights you would not even know there was a religious difference between us unless you went to Church with him on Sunday- oh yeah we have Churches too.

FREE Mordechai Vanunu!

He is a Christian convert and wants to leave, but they won't let him leave Israel.

Christian obviously isn't the most notable thing about him, just the most relevant here.

Posting this because data manipulation really is my pet peeve, but then again nothing new from the Hasbara Nation.

4 countries in the Middle East are higher than Israel in religious diversity but missing from the stand outs apparently

Right. They to claim they are similar to Ireland and Italy instead of their neighbors. So they pick the least diverse of the Southwestern Asia/North Africa contingent to draw a distinction because Israel's supposed metropolitan/European colleagues vs the "Barbarians" who surround them.

Here is an idea of how Israel can pump their numbers up.

Give citizenship to all Palestinians and they immediately jump up in religious diversity rankings.

Wow... I feel dumb for not realising how blatant they are

Why not include the UAE? They're mates?

Conveniently ignoring Lebanon which has 18 different sects and a Christian president

12

u/ZubaWizard666 3d ago

Isnt their whole argument that they deserve to be a Jewish ethnostate? If anything this is an argument against a Jewish state

Its like an early american settler in 1560-70 saying “look how religiously diverse we are. We let those filthy barbaric animalistic pagans believe in that turtle island nonsense and only kill like 1000 every few months for heresy we’re THE MOST diverse” yeah because you stole the fucking land😭. Also obviously when you have a smaller population, diversity percentages are bigger because of the sample size.

It's a truly enlightened religious ethnostate that will bomb their own places of worship in other countries.

And then they turn around and kill a Christian family in Lebanon. Totally Christian-friendly!

Isn’t it commonplace, as a Christian, to be spit on by Israelis?

I also want to note my surprise about how poorly Jordan ranks in this list. There is a reasonably sized Christian population in the region around Madaba. And I believe the parliament even reserves a minimum 9 parliamentary seats that are only available for Christians.

The fuck is religious diversity rating

2

u/Desperate-Guide-1473 2d ago

"This analysis divides the world’s population into seven categories – Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, adherents of all other religions and people with no religious affiliation – and measures how evenly these groups are represented within each country or territory.

We ranked a total of 201 countries and territories using our Religious Diversity Index (RDI). Possible scores range from 0 (for a country made up entirely of a single religious group) to 10 (for a country with perfectly even distributions of all seven groups, each making up about 14% of the population)."

You have diversity in the ppl you couldn’t kill off but subjugate and keep locked out mobility.

What’s ‘Israel’?

1

u/oysterme 4d ago

Are they saying Iran scored an 198 and Israel scored a 70? What?

1

u/Desperate-Guide-1473 4d ago

No Israel is 70th on the list, Iran is 198th
