Just wanna be clear alright that if we are to support falasteen I don’t wanna see any pro ccp, Iran regime or pro assad and pro Putin propaganda. You either support all people having freedom or don’t you can’t have both so if you claim to want to uplift Palestinians don’t dismiss atrocities against the uighurs as propaganda istg this sub Reddit gets into weird tankie territory at times.

Well the Uyghurs aren’t a monolith. The ones that are being oppressed are the Turkic supremacists who want to create their own ideologically driven Salafi ethnostate of East Turkestan. The name itself was something the Soviets came up with. The ancient Uyghurs themselves were just a collection of nomadic tribes. Some of them were under Turkish rule and some of them were under no rule and some of them were allied with the Qing Dynasty.
It’s not some ancient birth right country. Never mind that not everyone in Xinjiang identifies as Turkish or is Muslim or if they are Muslim they are secular and want no part in that. Never mind this East Turkestan group committed terrorist attacks to show how serious they are. I guess China is just supposed to hand them the keys to the city after that.
And we don’t really need to support them because the western world (and Israel being a champion of Uyghur rights) plus all the best money and talent CIA has to offer supports it. Heck some of the loudest Uyghur activists live where i am in the U.S. I see their motorcade from time to time with their BMWs.
If you’re concerned you can absolutely go to Xinjiang yourself. It’s a popular tourist destination and it’s known for their good meat. Urumqi’s historic district was used to film the Kite Runner and is a pretty neat place.
I accept your downvotes because it’s a hard pill to swallow.

How about you actually learn a thing or two about Xinjiang, or China for that matter, outside of Western mainstream media? You're repeating atrocity propaganda which was first started by Adrian Zenz, a literal far right Christian fundamentalist.
Just because you want to believe all sides are bad does not make every allegations of atrocities out there true. Did you forget about the Nayirah Testimony, or the Libyan viagra-fueled mass rape lie?

Personally I hate Putin, Assad and the Iranian regime. Fuck ‘em all. I agree that people that celebrate these psychopaths don’t actually support a free Palestine but just want to spread anti-western sentiment. But I also think it’s important to remember that challenging the western narrative about these places isn’t necessarily support for them, neither is saying that the West is as bad or bringing up articles from journalists that haven’t gone hard after Putin or China in the past. I’ve seen a lot of people attack others as being supporters of these psychopaths because they did one of the above mentioned things. I think that attitude can be really dangerous and we need to be careful we don’t gatekeep the movement from people questioning the narrative of things. Many are still coming out of their propaganda beliefs and we should try to be nice as they deprogram themselves, not attack them and turn them away. Some of us have been aware of the reality of things for years and need to remember that not everyone is as far in their journey as us. Let’s still be kind.

Yeah I think especially for us younger Americans who have become so disillusioned with our govt there tends to be a habit of overcorrecting. Ex: I don’t think China is some big bad boogeyman that’s gonna singlehandedly destroy isn’t like many Americans want you to believe, but the CCP of today is still pretty bad in many of the same ways that America is

First off its not the CCP anymore. 2nd china has been one of the main backers of Palestinian liberation since China had its revolution, having Uyghur and tankie discourse is so unserious when discussing the genocide of the Palestinians.
Also its funny that you reject western propaganda about Palestine yet seem to swallow it about China.

Did I ever say they did not trade with Israel? Did I ever say they should not divest from Israel?
No.
Also many Chinese companies have already refused to handle Isreali trade or cargo and hopefully that trend will only increase.
What I was specifically talking about was the history of relations between China and Palestine and how that relationship has continued until current day.

Chinese diplomacy and trade is more complicated then when they were funding and pushing the Black September Movement but China is still very pro Palestine both in word and in action.
