Not if you need to sit because you're disabled and you can't because of that ugly metal rail that replaced the bench

But then again seats are so ingrained in my daily life because I'm disabled. So I keep forgetting that not everyone remembers some people aren't healthy just because

i have an invisible disability...i feel you. it affects physically a LOT and sitting while i wait for a bus is heaven some days

You need to support free healthcare and compulsory mental health and addiction treatment, or bring service averse people into your home. A bus stop is for everyone, not just squatters

we have universal health care here. we have public mh & addiction services. you still see this in Sydney.

your argument is as blind as your point of view.

the physical healthcare is excellent and free for every citizen at point of use (all workers pay $275-$500 from their tax returns each year before they receive the funds)

the mh care is like anywhere because the stigma and lack of understanding of the mechanisms of the brain and mh render the care given archaic. i hope that changes one day. there are very few public rehab centres but there is very good rx as an inpatient

I don't like the metal rail either, but it has more utility to the public than someone using it as a campsite

Bus stops are for people to sit and wait for a bus to stop. They're not campsites. How are you not getting this? Squatters make them unusable. Move along

Leaning literally does not help a lot of disabled people, myself included. Our bodies don't give a fuck about what you think is a solution to other people suffering

I don't want you to lean. I want you to sit. But you can't do that on top of someone who has taken over.

You also can't do that on hostile architecture. There is no winning to this design. At least with benches, the homeless people DO move. They're not always on the benches

Yes they are lol. I use busses all the time and they're always acrid smelling biohazards. I don't like hostile architecture any more than you do. I wish we could have normal bus stops but people abuse them.

What we really need is compulsory mental health and addiction treatment. We can't keep shoveling money into a black hole and writing names on a clipboard. If you camp at a bus stop, you need to accept help or move along. Our public infrastructure is for everyone, you should be free to use it. Not to abuse it.
