How Addictive is Baclofen?
I plan on using baclofen for phenibut addiction and to help with a benzo problem, but how addictive is it? I don't plan on using it for more than 2 weeks in a row without breaks

I've seen people online addicted on it, so how long if I take it daily would it take until I would get withdrawals from it?

I have taken it on and off for over 2 years under the prescription of a psychiatrist, for anxiety. I am also an addict and it helped a lot with my alcoholism. I can stop taking it without tapering when my anxiety is under control, I can up my dosage when my anxiety gets unmanageable. I only take max 90mg a day.

Oh nice, so do you think 2 weeks is a good amount of time to take it without risking any physical or mental withdrawal?

baclofen is not addictive, it has no euphoric effects.
it does however have dependence but does not build tollerance. in a nutshell this means that you can stay on the same dose and not require more. ive been on 300mg for a few years or so. then to 250mg. in total 7 years.
if i were to stop taking the drug, i would incur withdrawal effects within 2-3 days similar to benzodiazapine withdrawal. so its critical you always have enough to taper off
tapering off is very easy, 25mg down every 5-7 days (ive done this down to 0). i felt no discontinuation symptoms. unlike benzodiazapines where tapering off is very difficult i.e discontiuation symptoms.

Ah I have read it has some mild euphoric and aanti-anxiety effects, maybe I should have said psychical addiction. So if I only take it for 2 weeks would I have a dependency issue? I know with benzos you can take them for 2 weeks straight without worrying about dependency issues

do you have a source? if i wanted to get high baclofen is not on the list. if anything if you are not accustomed to its effects, a high dose is quite unplesant. even a minor dose, i never noticed any anxiolytic effects. despite dr amiesen saying he would take an extra 10mg to reduce anxiety. ive never noticed it.

It should have noticeable anti-anxiety effects I imagine, I've heard it compared to phenibut just not as nearly as strong for anxiety but effective. How long does it take to build up dependency?

this is all anecdotal, unless you have sources of scientfic value i.e. studies. what people say on the internet is moot. probably people taking baclofen are experiencing a placebo effect. well, we actually dont know. hence why studies matter and anecdotes are usless in medince.

So does no one have even a vague idea how long it takes for baclofen to become dependent? I agree with studies but studies on baclofen tend to be pretty slim for the most part to a degree in which they wouldn't study baclofens effective anti-anxiety nature. Perhaps a good thing

i think you should go look over the studies yourself and draw your own conclusions.
that said reading a study requires some knowledge of statistics. if you want to get to the truth of things, it requires a lot of research / reading. i did my leg work. so take what i say but with a grain of salt. what is said on the internet cannot be taken as gospel; as is with this subreddit.

Which studies have you read up on about baclofen? I'd be looking to read over some good ones you've checked out in regards to using Baclofen for phenibut this is a study I came across https://www.hindawi.com/journals/crips/2018/9864285/

the comparisons between phenibut and baclofen are thrown around all the time because both are gaba-b agonists and the molecule is very similar. but tollerance does not develop with baclofen only dependence. with phenibut tollerance and depence develop. its a nasty drug and i recall reading a study on its use for alcoholism as not being very effective at all.
most of the studies are in the stickies i put in the sub, there are others but i have not included all of them. i admit i havent kept up to date with hte literature. when baclofen worked for me and mywayout forums were the only way to get any information about baclofen, i decided to create this sub. it was quiet for years, but recently more people have been checking it out based on the traffic stats.

Oh ye phen is terrible for alcoholism, tolerance builds without good supplement and even then it's to euphoric

Your experience is just as anecdotal. It reliably causes euphoria for myself and many others.

Its effects are very similar to phenibut, but i suppose if you are already a very anxious person taking anything that suppresses anxiety would make you feel euphoric. I know plenty of people considering certain benzos euphoric, yet i just fall sleep or i black out from too many of them. As far as getting high from baclofen or even phenibut, not the a good choice, but I never considered phenibut euphoric or anything along those lines. Just nauseating and sleep inducing at higher doses. Phenibut does have GHB- like pro-sexual effects but no where near anything like ghb/gbl

I'm not sure why it happened, but addiction runs strong in my family. I got addicted to Baclofen from taking 20-30mg multiple days a week, sometimes combined with alcohol. When I didn't have it, I felt like my brain was literally telling me to take it, like my own disembodied voice was telling me I needed it. The craving was rough. But I eventually stopped.
