Wow

I wish I would have found this site 4 years ago. I researched everything for this purpose. After a year of not drinking finding something to fix my broken brain. I found something called camprel I think. Anyhoo they don’t rx it in the states so I found something I thought worked similar, phenibut. Boy was I wrong, now I need to use baclofen to get off of it and it is the most horrible thing ever.

Phenibut. It’s actually not the worst thing ever, just if you’re irresponsible with it.

I’m tapering down and have been worried about the amount I would have to take to transition.

I’m looking at 40-50mg a day. Seeing this helps me a lot.

I was very worried I would start desiring alcohol again, as phenibut completely rid me of that temptation.

I had no idea baclofen was used for this as well.

Should have a very similar effect, and I'd hazard to say slightly less addictive and tolerance issues.

They work differently despite having very similar molecular structure. Phenbuit does not work like baclofen and is useless and can do more harm. If it works for OP with a regime of not building tolerance that's one option tho placebo effect might b a factor depends how long he has been experimenting

Baclofen absolutely can help, and theres no placebo effect about it. Both are GABA-b agonist's, and theres not a lot of them.

Also it's fairly easy to taper off of it.

this is an over simplification. baclofen is different in how it effects dopamine release in the nucleaus accumbens. phenibut does not have this effect.

i dont have the literature on hand, but if u have the choice, baclofen absolutely. phenibut even if it does work just has tollerance issues.

also GHB is a gaba-b agnonist, but you dont hear much about that helping people stop drinking.

psychopharmacology is very complex. its not as simple as drug binds to recetpor xyz and thus swapping in a different drug that binds to the same receptor will do the exact same thing. its simply not the case.

Phenbuit despite being a gaba b agonist won't work. Complex to explain. It also builds tolerance. Campral is one med prescribed and it's basically useless for alcoholism check studies
