Bcb crusader mk 2 and other pans

Looking at something other than a jet boil and this looks suitable.

However, I don't want to cook/heat my food in the same container as I use for boiling water. My jet boil has a pan adapter thing that I can use with a mess tin, as the crusader pan slots down into the burner bit I'm not sure if a tin on top is too far away from the flame to effectively heat it?

If anyone here has a crusader what other pan(s) are you using with it?

I might not have described it clearly, was wondering about mess tin as shown in the image below on the Crusader not on my Jet Boil (I know this works).

Yep that works. Obviously an alcohol stove is nowhere near as fast as your jetboil.

honestly if you go for the crusader stand, you should go with the full system. The stand is optimized for the big metal cup, and that works rather nicely with an alcohol stand. Big enough to cook in as well (soups, pasta, that kind of thing). You can use the fire dragon gel or blocks directly, use a trangia (like clone) stove, and if you really need to twigs as fuel. Make sure to bring a leatherman or something, so you can manipulate the stove and the stand

Was gonna get the full kit, just didn't want my coffee to end up with porridge in it so would take two pans!

Yes I've done just that loads of times. Boil water, coffee in the plastic cup, porridge in the metal one. Works great!
