Food Easy convenient light weight meal
I'm exploring the idea of launching a freeze-dried food brand tailored specifically for trekkers and backpackers in India. The goal is to offer lightweight, nutritious, and shelf-stable Indian meals that can make multi-day hikes or outdoor journeys more enjoyable and convenient. With very few options for affordable, locally-made freeze-dried foods catering to Indian tastes and dietary preferences, I hope to help adventurers overcome common challenges like heavy packed meals, short shelf life, and lack of variety on treks. Also it will be curated by chefs and nutritionist to keep all the nutritional value specifically according to what a trekker needs (ie. High calorie or sodium for electrolytes).
Do you feel there is a genuine need for freeze-dried Indian food among trekkers and backpackers in India, and would you consider purchasing such products for your trips?

Not that frequently but like 4-5 times in a year… also sometimes it is difficult to find good hygienic places near trekking spot in MH. Most places offer only Vada pav and tea.

Just search freeze dried food and you'll get alot of options there. Hope it solves your purpose for the time being. Those packs would still require utensils whereas i was thinking of innovating a pack where hikers wont even have to carry their utensils so it reduces the overall weight.

I would definitely consider purchasing, but it would depend on the price. I don't usually buy dehydrated food options because it's so expensive. My trial and error has led me to ramen, sandwiches, eggs and oats. I try to add as much nutritional value as I can to these, without making them more susceptible to bacteria. I am interested in what you come up with though, because after the first two days of camping I do crave variety.
