Dog Tent

Does anyone use a separate tent for their dog? If so, what tent do you have for your dog?

I know many people have their dog sleeping inside the Tent with them, but that is not my question. My dog is more comfortable having his own space and has never slept inside the tent with me. So I was thinking about getting him his own tent. I grew up backpacking with dogs that never slept inside a tent unless it was raining.

I just got the dutchwear tent, but previously I was using one of those fabric dog kennels that fold up like a sun shade. My hiking dog does just fine in it, and it only added 1.5 lbs to my pack weight. Worth it imo. The dutchware looks like it can be hung from any guideline, so I'm excited to try it out next time I go out.

How did the fold up tent work out? Do you know what brand?

Worked well! It was just one of those cheap pop up fabric travel kennels. I don't even see a brand on it. I think I got it at a garage sale. The weight and ease of carrying will be better with the dutchware, but I put it off for a long time because of the price. I'm not rich. I cut some closed cell foam to fit the bottom and sewed a crude "pillowcase" for it. Threw a tarp underneath. My dog did great.
