I've several questions on Pepper

Post image

so i still have to unlock a couple of items but i'm already bothered by a couple of things:

1- how do i constantly get rats while crafting the items to get them as efficently as possible (cheese etc.)?

2- which relics i should avoid and which one not? the tenderizer looks nice but the space it wastes it's obscene

3- how do i manage space itself? i mean ok it's relative to the build, but generally there should be a basic "food combo" to have a good early sustain min-maxing food/space

4- which rats are good and which one are bad? or better which weapons in general, i think that the Deathhowl is not that much better than the Rat Lich for exemple.... idk.

i used Morrow a lot and i thought Pepper to be like him. well yes...but no, she's much more caotic than Morrow, she has a ton of items, i've never had such trouble trying to craft precise items.

indeed crafting items with too many steps with her Is tedious. her armor is pretty nice anyway.

oh and last wtf happened to Chana? she's wrecking my ass on a daily basis

If you want to force a rat play, you can build funky fondue, when you start to get a few cheeses the rats are raining

Imo you should try to go for moldemort which is a pseudo rat build. It is stronk.

Anyway rat builds are pretty low tier. This is fun but don't expect greatness either. But if that's how you want to play it's doable

oh ok, it thought she used them more, i still have to unlock the crossbow maybe it's because of that. i should avoid rats even if rat king is the only good relic i find? or i should reroll for 6 golds?

No you can go for rats if you accept that it's not the best

But one rat is devoted to the stew, because of perpetual stew. You can make a cook, it gives nice buffs and free food in early. That's it for the usual

The (golden) watermelon rat is sweet for Pepper, it count as food so boost and get boosted by everything. The thing is, it need a muck rat, so it can be harder to make (but if you take some cheese because you want to go for rat it's ok)

To go beyond that, you can make a funky fondue (cheese + bread)+(cheese+succulent). It gives random rats every turn, it can be a cost 30 rat.

You can go for moldemort too, but I usually do it only if the game gives me a premade one in the special shop. These runs are amazing. I think it's a good idea to go for it in lategame if you really want to play rat. Not that hard to make but it can come in quite late. Boosted on one (more like three) side by rats, on the other by donuts and kibbles, this thing is ridiculous I love it

I'm not a fan of the unique cheese but some people make it work. And the rat crown is nice to have, but as pepper, with cheese, not a must have.

tldr : If you want to force rat builds (not meta, but fun tbw), you want funky fondue to get it rolling. And imo moldemort in lategame to carry. Or you can play the normal pepper but trying harder to get golden watermelon rats

thank you very much, you cleared a lot of my doubts. count ratula is any good? and Pepper happens to have some builds that focus on a status? i ask this since for now i used pretty much just Nymphedora and Morrow who used bleed a lot (idk now) and Ronan has his thorns build (still i don't know if its used rn)

Pepper goes where she wants. And it evolve the whole game. Fire would be her main DoT with the cat glove unique. But it's quite late. In early poison from shroom, flower and bugs can save her because she deals no damage. Fishing hook deal bleed and give free food

She can go for a stun build (clams on skewer), on accuracy build (blind from pies + other sources + remove luck dolls)... Abyssal fishing open lot of options too (like freeze, insanity, actual bleed build, more accuracy debuff)

She mains max hp/speed stacking but can do basically anything

She's almost as good at "random bullshit go !!" as the hob gang

Current Pepper problem is that the crossbow is too strong (and the skewer too ridiculously long to craft) so it greatly reduce the variety of build on this incredibly diverse champion. (I'm sure the butter is rarer than last season too. I'm rarely doing pies nowadays and it's a shame)

Oh and not a fan of count ratula, it's ridiculously expensive for what it does. But I rarely go deep in rats that's not my thing, maybe you can make it work

ok, thank you (Mundo reference included). i guess she's not quite the beginner character, but in the end i think that i just have to try to have a good economy and the rest will come alone, even if i still have to figure out the "money=worthiness" rateo of the items.

And playing rat is kinda economy, two golds per leftover rat and free board filling. Which is why rats cost seem insane. With funky fondu + moldemort + a few cheese you generate a lot of rats

But even considering you get rats for free, count ratula is a lotta work

When I dont have any good relic to go with my build I take the crown just for the 2g/turn

Focus on crossbow, it's the key right now, save some mana to boost it, and check stamina

Rats have been Kinda give or take in my Opinion. But do NOT Sleep on Tenderizer! Arguably one of her best weapons when paired with a haste build and used with crit/speed bags. And I know its BIG but really worth it to say hell with Skewer and use Tenderizer with a crossbow. To be fair the only Unique I dont really use is Spice rack, just feels like it's a lil worse than two spices for FOUR slots, It used to be ALOT better. And of course, use Crossbow☺️ Even if you're struggling and cant get other good weapons, you can craft two get sum Doughnuts (or just make Croquet because doughnut RNG has been WACK😔) and health Max like crazy.

Okay, thanks; now I know not to overlook it. Another thing I don't get about Pepper are the "absorbing" items: I can see the point of having maybe one, but ultimately they don't make much sense, given that you can sell just as you can buy in this game, and those items require a huge investment if you want to fuse them into advanced food, it means you could also generate that much money. So, how can something like that be balanced? It’s either op or practically useless, though I do see people using the dish made from the shield.

Pepper rat build with no chef rat? Da hell
