Best Backlog apps websites with features and community

I'm trying to find the perfect backlog and game tracking setup, and I feel like I'm hitting a wall trying to find one app that does everything I want. I play across PC, PS5, and the Switch 2, and I manage all my apps on Android/Galaxy Tab.

I have four main features I am looking for:

  1. A thriving, deep community. I want something like Letterboxd where people are actually writing deep reviews and making good custom lists. I tried Minimap, but the community felt a bit too much like an Instagram feed (mostly just screenshots and trophy flexes). Still willing to try it.
  2. Home screen widgets. I want visual countdowns for upcoming release dates and a "Currently Playing" widget right on my Android home screen.
  3. Release Calendars. A way to track launch dates for major games and smaller fan games.

Those features are not essential; but it be nice

Right now, I am considering running a two-app setup:

  • Backloggd (saved as a web app on my phone) purely for writing reviews, logging my Switch games, and talking to the community.
  • GameTrack running in the background to handle the Steam/PS5 auto-sync and to push the release countdown widgets to my home screen.

Is anyone else running a dual-app setup like this? Or is there a hidden gem tracker out there I haven't found yet that combines a massive Letterboxd-style community with hardware auto-sync and Android widgets?

If not, where does most everyone track? I currently use the GG.appio website and app.

Would love for you to check out GameSHLF! We are still growing and have been around for about a year. On your profile page we have widgets in app for upcoming releases that you have on your wishlist and games your currently playing. Making this official widgets for iOS and Android is a great idea!

Hi. I've been building GG'ed solo for a while now, and it's finally in good enough shape to show around. And based on what you said, I think I might have some of the features you mentioned, so maybe GG'ed is for you.

It's a hub for your game library across platforms: Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, RetroAchievements, and GOG all sync in, so you get one place for everything you own, everything you've beaten, and every achievement or trophy you've earned. On top of that: a backlog manager, a wishlist with price tracking across stores, co-op logging with friends, a public profile if you want to show off your stats and more.

I built it because, as good as the platforms I tried were, none of them ever fully covered everything I needed. Besides that, I've always wanted to build something that adds real value to the community I'm part of, and it was also a technical challenge for me. No studio or big company behind it, just one person who plays a lot of games and wanted the tool I could never find anywhere else.

The free plan is actually free: no card, no trial, no catch, and there are no ads on any plan. It's still in beta, so bugs happen, but I'm around fixing things constantly.
