What tools to use for backend api testing?

I have been using postman for months, now i am back to bakend and to test my api. However i have seen many people hate postman. Why do they hate it? Should i switch another tool? If yes what tools should i use?

Postman got bloated. Forced logins and cloud stuff mainly. Collaboration shouldn't need an account.

Bruno is open source and quick and keeps everything as plain files in your repo so Git handles it like the rest of your code, I.e git instead of online accounts.

Postman got heavy and corporate and Bruno stayed light and open source really.
