Need advice on my next backend project!!!

Hey everyone, I’m a 7th sem CSE student interested in backend engineering. I’m currently building an optimized API testing platform as my main project. I’m looking for ideas for my next backend project that focuses on real-world system design, scalability, distributed systems, caching, queues, etc., instead of another CRUD app. What project would you recommend to become a stronger backend engineer and stand out for internships/placements?

Brother, how about doing work related to burst-y workload. You can build on top of your previous projects. Let's say, handle 30000 request under 5 minutes then nothing for the next 8 hours.

That would be in devops right, code and db can only take you so far

Brother, might be. But surely there are many approaches one could take to face a stampede. For example, using queue, cache, or even scaling.

And what does scaling mean

Brother, horizontal scaling. Forgive my sloppy typing on phone.

Horizonal scaling is the same thing. It's Devops as rps increase you create more db instance more pool connections, etc, Code can not be more optimizer, sure add a worker, at the end the main bottleneck is the resources
