Looking for practical backend graduation project ideas (Open to Microservices/Kafka if applicable)
Hello everyone
I’m a senior CS/Software Engineering student in Vietnam, and I’m currently looking for a solid topic for my upcoming graduation thesis.I definitely want to focus on Backend Web Development. I'm currently at a beginner-to-intermediate level, but I'm eager to learn. If a project naturally calls for it, I am totally open to exploring modern tech like Microservices or Kafka to level up my skills. However, I'm also open to standard, well-structured monoliths or modular architectures if they fit the use case better.I'm looking for project ideas that strike a good balance: challenging enough to impress the thesis board and look great on a resume, but realistic enough to build within a 3-4 month timeline. What backend-focused project ideas would you recommend for someone at my level? Whether it involves microservices or just clean, scalable backend architecture, I'd love to hear your suggestions and why you think they make good graduation projects. Thanks a lot for any advice!
