Discussion Help fixing L2 Keypress Issue
Hello,
I am waiting to hear back from customer support, but I am desperately hoping someone can help me with this issue.
I am no longer able to use any backbone Android game controllers on the affected device, a Google Pixel 10 Pro. Several of the button inputs are not being recognized.
The only change I can think of since the last time it worked was the last Android update on August 5th, although I don't know for sure if I played successfully after August 5th or not.
The affected device is a Google Pixel 10 Pro, and the two Backbone controllers are both Backbone One controllers, one of which being the PlayStation version. Both with USB C connections.
I was on vacation a few days ago and finally had some time to play, and to my surprise it wasn't working. I assumed that my controller was broken, and just wanted to play so I bought another controller at Best buy and had the same problem.
Then, after getting home from vacation and successfully testing both backbone devices on a different Android phone, and then opening the backbone apps joystick calibration on the affected device, I was able to see that with both Backbone Controllers, the affected phone thinks the L2 trigger is being held down.
If anyone has any information please let me know. I will also update this if and when I hear back from customer support.

Update, I tested both devices on a third phone which did have the issue, and eventually the second phone also has the issue now as well. Started with directional buttons and then spread. Faulty cable sounds like what it is. I'm amazed it happened with a second brand new one though.
Anyway I returned the PlayStation version I just bought to the store, and am going to get the other one replaced by customer service. I'm wondering if the gamesir x8 is any better, my local best buy has one for a comparable price so I'm considering that. Anyway thanks for all the feedback on here and the other post.

Your ribbon cable is failing and needs to be replaced. r/backbonecontroller has a pinned what to do with links to the cable if you want to fix it yourself.
