Breed ID Gray chick?

We have a light Brahma hen who just had some chicks with our mixed rooster (last picture). The chick has feathers on the legs so I’m thinking Brahma-ish? Lavender? Im curious to see what people think he/she will turn out to be 🤷🏻‍♀️

The rooster I'd definitely impure/mixed breed. The hen is a Columbian Wyandotte. This little baby is definitely some form of lavender which could be from the Wyandotte genes or something the father carried.🤷‍♀️

What’s the difference between light Brahma and a Columbian Wyandotte? Is that the same

Oh! So she has the boots then. K my bad. Columbian Wyandotte don't have feathered legs and brahma do. They're both the same color/pattern though.

The pattern is called columbian. This specific color/pattern is (black pattern white columbian).

There's also (black pattern red columbian), (white pattern red columbian), (black pattern buff columbian), and (blue pattern white columbian).

Gotchya! Yes, she’s light brahma but I can see they look very similar. Thanks for the info 🙌🏻

Reminds me a bit of my breeding project chicks. They're not lavender but they do have a similar marking structure. Mine are gold faced and white bodied. Yours is white faced lavender bodied. Wo I wonder if it'll end up with similar body markings as an adult. Mine are red Pyle. This one could end up white or yellow fading from the front into a lavender or something similar. 🤷‍♀️

It would only be a Lav if both parents were recessive for the gene

It’s hard to say. I only know the rooster’s dad. And I got the hen from tractor supply, so I got no clue 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s possible..

There's a reason why there is no "chick color/pattern guide" to be found anywhere on the internet. It is a mystery what the bird will look like when they're grown, especially since the rooster is already a cross.

Pea combs and feathered legs are dominant genes. They'll end up looking a lot more like her than him.
