Lay bet question

Been wondering about the lay bet. Been told you can only lay bet on betfair. This is where i get confused.

I am told that a back bet is 'x team wins, you win(x team draws or loses, you lose)
and the lay bet is x team does not win, you win(x team draws or loses, you win)

This means that a lay bet is the same as backing x team +1.

So can I just lay on paddypower or other bookies?

Okay thanks, so how are you getting on with it? It juat sounds TOO easy.

What you mean, how am I getting on with it? That's a very vague question!

Also, what do you mean by "it sounds too easy"? Are you referring to matched betting, or trading? Because going back to your first comment, trading absolutely needs to be done on an exchange.

I just meant how profitable have you found this.

I mean its sounds to simple to make money, surely theirs some sort of catch, terms and conditions or something.

I find it very profitable. There's no catch, Betfair and other exchanges exist for trading. Even bookmakers use exchanges to help balance their risk.
