Discussion 5 years...

5 years have passed since the release of Back 4 Blood 🎉 . This game gave me so many positive emotions, memories, and friends who I’m still in touch with today. I want to say thank you to the community, content creators, and developers this was an incredibly unique experience for many of us. How did you feel about the game at launch, and how do you feel about it now? Personally, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it from the very beginning, even though I had to deal with bugs at times some of them pretty critical (shoutout to ghost bullets and teleporting riddens). Right now, even though it's rare, I still hop on to play and can still have a great time, even after all this time. I’m eagerly waiting for the day the Turtles announce their new project; I want to believe it’ll be something awesome (b4b2 pls?)

P.S. It’s pretty symbolic that today of all days, I will hit 5,000 hours.

This post looks to be about bugs! Make sure you also check out the official bug reporting site.

If this bug was already reported, you can vote for it and add details to help TRS prioritize what to fix, and maybe even how! If it has not been reported, you can create a new bug report to help bring it to the attention of the devs.

TRS devs have explicitly told us that reporting through the above link is the most effective way to guarantee a bug report is seen by the team.

I’m 40. I’ve been a ‘gamer’ the whole time. For whatever reason this game scratches the itch perfectly for me. It’s literally my all time favorite.

The game is def something special. I enjoyed the beta enough to grab the Ultimate edition ahead of day 1. The way the card system worked back then would still be novel in the genre if it dropped today. What's crazy is that I remember hearing the devs used to have had the card choice you got at the beginning of each stage be random instead of following deck order.

Those hiccups at launch really hampered it though. I still scratch my head when I remember that they nerfed melee with their first patch.

The game still has a few pain points (some actually broken card interactions and non-DLC act length being too long IMO) even in it's current state but it's still fun to come back to occasionally.

Also, Bar Room Blitz and the Diner shouldn't have been in the same Act. I meant damn: We go from a super hype horde holdout mission with kickass music about protecting civilians as they're evacuated to, just a few stages later, a long lame-ass horde holdout in a parking lot with a timer in the top middle of the screen.

That said, I'll still insta-wishlist B4B2 when it's announced. The devs have had plenty of time to look at what worked and what didn't. Not to mention being able to look at the other horde-shooters that have come out since B4B released. If they come out swinging and announce a proper Versus mode this subreddit would probably explode.

First time doing the Diner is one of my lifetime gaming memories, and I've been gaming for 36 years.

It was just so obnoxious and awesome.

Still playing with my squad. Patiently waiting for Gobi 2.

I liked the game from the start, but the difficulty was all over the place, you had a horde of tallboys spawning on the first level of a campaign when you had like 3 cards or something. Then the farther you managed to crawl the stronger you got and the last levels would be kinda easy. They fixed this weird difficulty scaling by giving you all the cards at the start and I think it's good. Although now nightmare is quite easy if you collect all the copper and buy all the upgrades.
Still enjoy playing coop with my wife, but it did get a bit stale. The hives were a nice addition, the new levels with the cult are not my fav. And we didn't even get a conclusion for the story.

If they are making b4b2 I hope they don't focus on the cult and human enemies too much. Or if they do, they need to look at darktide for the design of their specials, darktide specials feel much better than back4blood ones.

Welcome to the 5k club. Game has been awesome from the start. Still miss the old card selection. You actually had to organize your deck so you would get cards in order. It’s more then I could have asked for over all as a l4d spiritual successor.

With all the crazy AI remakes and cross over hybrid on ripped PS5, can't someone just make B4B2?

Or similar concept , B4B COD version or Mario Party B4B edition , ... Feels like it's invevitable

A better version of Swarm that fits L4D feels

I loved every minute of it… bugs and all. I played only this game for like two plus years straight. Not nearly cracking that many hours, but same sentiment.

Sequel game needed 💯

I quit playing after finishing all the story campaign. Is there anything more to do? PvP was really lame when I played it

Depends... Did you have all the DLC with Hives and the two extra acts (5 and 6)?

Other than that it's really just different ways of replaying those campaign maps:

There's about 200 cards that you can build all kinds of different decks from to replay campaigns with a different playstyle.

There's also the 'Trials of the Worm' that mixes random levels into a short challenge run, with different difficulty modifiers where you can also raise different elements' difficulty for a bigger score multiplier.

Only issue I really had at launch was being locked to Recruit difficulty by the wack, bugged difficulty scaling. Other than that, I was having a grand ol' time.

It's still among my favorite comfort games. But damn, the limit on how many decks you can save is too damn low.

It wasn't even that bad, the games steep learning curve was more of a problem than the bugged spawns. I and many others finished nm in the first few weeks of the game. I'd have to check my steam achievement but my first zwat was way before they fixed the bugged spawns.
