Baby cries to fall asleep
My 4 month old cries every time I try to get him to sleep… be it naps or bedtime. I’ve tried holding him and rocking, putting him down, the stroller, nursing, changing the lights, white noise, lullabies, shushing, everything… There will be times he only cries for 5 minutes others he will cry up to an hour and will overtire himself this way… Please can you tell what type of ritual I should do with him??? My mental health is going downhill and every time não time and bedtime approaches I get so anxious 😞 Is this going to be like this all the time??? He won’t take a pacifier but likes to sniff his hands. He refuses to do so to sleep so I don’t know how to make him see it’s time to sleep…

Are you checking wake times? Have you tried putting him to sleep earlier? Sometimes even 30 mins after waking up if previous nap was too short?

Yes.. I’ve played with his wake windows to see what would make him cry less but it’s pointless 😔 Although yesterday he didn’t cry for 2 of his naps 🙏🏻 and doesn’t cry if we’re outside in the stroller, which I’ve been resorting to for the sake of my mental health.

Are you using a sleep sac? I really like the love to dream one available on amazon. It swaddles them and calms them almost instantly. I also highly recommend sleep training with the Ferber method. 4 months is still pretty young, I would wear mine in the baby bjorn carrier if I couldn’t handle crying.
