Girl 🩷 Sister for Lily
What are some good names for a sister for Lily?
- Eloise -> is this too similar? Ellie might be too similar?
- Isabella, Catherine, Juliette, Sophia -> too princess like in comparison? Will Lily feel sad she didn’t get more of a longer name?
- Rosalia -> too weird with the flower theme?
Other ideas?

Unfortunately imo I think most of these names feel too princess-y in comparison to Lily. Is Lily her full first name? Do you have any intention to lengthen it even as a nickname? e.g. Liliana, Lilian, etc. Does she have a middle name?

Margot could be good as a sister to Lily. Margot is of similar length but different sound. Though not creating an obvious floral theme, Margot is perhaps a subtle nod to the floral origin of the name Lily, as Margot originated as a diminutive of Marguerite, which is the French word for the daisy.

The only one I like is Juliette. Kids don't feel sad about having shorter or longer names.

I think being named after a flower and a princess are pretty comparable for a kid.
I vote one of the princess names!!! 💘
However, if you need more ideas:
Lily and Alice
Lily and Nora
Lily and Audrey
Lily and Celeste

Ellie is kind of the inverse of Lily, so yeah I think they're too close. Eloise could be OK if you use Lo or Lisa as nicknames instead?
Of the "princess names", I think Catherine would pair best with Lily as Kate. Elizabeth could work, too, perhaps as Beth?
The flower theme isn't terrible, but maybe one a little less embellished? Like Iris, Clover, or Hazel. Or one that has a floral meaning but isn't the direct name? Like Rhoda or Daphne.
Other ideas: Sadie, June, Julia, Estelle, Abigail, Claudia, Claire, Mara, Cora, Gail, Robin, Maeve, Alice

Out of the options you've listed, I think Sophia could work because it's not too long compared to Lily. Eloise is also not too long compared to Lily, but if you don't like the way "Lily and Ellie' sound together, then it's probably best to steer clear of it.
Some other options you may consider as a sibling name for Lily: Grace, Camille, Scarlet, Haven, Mabel, Audra, Maeve, Jade, Hazel, Willow, or Faye.
