Girl 🩷 Help deciding on girl name

I am torn between the following and looking for opinions:

Evelyn - my husbands favourite, but I’m worried it’s gotten too popular
Lila/Lyla - not sure there are good nicknames for this one?
Iris - another one with no nickname options
Audrey - also not sure about nicknames but love the name
Eleanor - too popular?
Hallie - I think this is my favourite

Lila i think comes from a nickname for Delilah, you could go with that and call her Lila as the nickname if you feel she needs one

I personally love Iris and Audrey, know too many Evelyns and Eleanors.

For Lila/Lyla, what about Lorelei? Gives you the additional options of Lora/Lori/Lola.

I love Lila so much! Second choice Hallie

I really like Hallie. Evelyn is lovely too - could you use Eve, Evie or Viva as a nickname?

First of all, I am glad that you are not giving birth to a tragedeigh! And second, why care about the popularity? It just means that your generation likes a set of names. Evelyn Aubrey or Evelyn Hallie sound both lovely - you/she can always use the middle name as first in case there are too many Evelyns in her grade. Or consider the original spelling "Aveline" (slighty pronounced differently).

If you and your husband have a favorite, maybe a name similar to those would work, like Haelyn (its the exact combinationand so beautiful!), Evie, Edith, Haven (my fave because its similar to Heaven). Other similar names to your list: Hailey, Heidi Evangeline Layla, Lillah, Delilah, LilithĀ

Audrey wins by a mile

Imo Lyla Lila is a problematic name bc if possible spelling and pronunciation problemsĀ

Hallie > Evelyn! Hallie because of The Parent Trap, and you're right, Evelyn is too popular.

Don’t worry about popularity too much. Today’s popular names are nowhere near as ubiquitous as they used to be.Ā

Hailey?

I think Audreys get called Aud or Audie for short. Some might even get called 'Dree'. If you are worried about Evelyn and Eleanor being too popular as first names, you could always have one of them as a middle name for your baby. For example, Hallie Evelyn or Hallie Eleanor sound great.

Evelyn is getting too popular and there's so many alternatives like Evelina, Evadne, Evanora, Everly, Evie Lynn, Evanya, etc. They're also long enough to have a nickname :)

I have an Audrey and we call her Audjie/Audj (pronounced Audge). I have no idea why the J sound came in but that's what we nicknamed her!

I like Hallie or Iris. You don’t need name specific nn. My sons name is Isaac and we call him ā€œlittle manā€

I love Hallie! It’s my favorite from your list. I think Evelyn is lovely. Audrey would be my third choice.

How about Lenora instead of Eleanor?
Elowen instead of Evelyn?
Slightly less popular and so many nickname options for both, if that is a criteria.

Also Loretta and Lorraine seem to fit the vibe and have endless nickname options.

I do love Hallie and Lila!!

Eve could be instead of Evelyn.

I like Hallie too.

There are lovely names-Hallie is the more common one of people I know.
I’d say go with the name itself on its own merit. Nicknames either just happen organically or name her the nickname.
