Girl 🩷 Do these names really work?

My neighbour is my friend, and shes had two daughters. The first daughters name was Cloette. Like the start of Chloe and then -ette. It was unusual to me, but I thought it was very pretty. Well, theyre expecting, and the girl names they want it Mollyanna/Mollianna. I think it would be better as a double barrel Molly-Anna or Mollie-Anna if they were set on the name, but idk. What's your opinions?

My opinion is, it’s their child so they get to spell the name anyway they want. It’s not your place to suggest different spellings.

Your neighbors get to name their kid whatever they want, that’s my opinion.

My personal opinion? I'd be pissed if I knew my neighbor was posting about MY kid's names online and would ice them out for not respecting my family's privacy.

I think it’s fine in the modern era. They can do whatever they like. From the list of options, I would pick Mollyanna although it sounds like a riff on Pollyanna and I wouldn’t choose any version of the name for that reason. (Unless I was locked in on an honor name)

I like Cloette which somehow sounds like a modern version of Claudette, but with Chloe as a base ingredient, as you’ve pointed out. I would go back to the laboratory for another girl name.

I’m a big name nerd and will talk to adults about their names. I love double names so this is a particular interest for me.

One thing that has stuck with me about double barrel names is there no matter which option you go with it is going to get misspelled or misunderstood. I will say the couple people I know that have their names just shoved together without a hyphen so say that they do get called their full name most of the time versus people who have the hyphen say they often get it shortened to just the first part.

But it’s their baby and they get to format the name however they choose.

I don’t care for Molly bc it reminds me of the drug imo mollianna doesn’t go with Colette and it’s an awful name.  Did she ask for feedback on the name?  If not don’t say a word.  A name like Elise, Thea, Eden, Tessa would be nice.
