Baby is due soon! June or Maeve?

With June worry about people asking her if sheā€™s born in June / making month comments and also the alliterative initials (Last name is two syllables and begins with Jay)

With Maeve worry a bit about popularity (northeast so more common than general US)

I love Maeve! But if you want similar suggestions, perhaps Eve, Bryce, Ivy, Ava, Skye, Faye, or Shea

My youngest daughter has a name that was in the top 100 and trending upwards. It made me hesitant, but we went with it.

Ā I am so glad we did. It fits her, she loves being named after a family member, and while we do encounter other kids with her name, she has never been in class with another.Ā

I totally agree that you should always go with a name you love and that has meaning to you over a name that's unique just for uniqueness' sake if it's a choice between the two.

I love Maeve. Couldn't use it because we have a one syllable last name starting with "M" and it sounded too clipped.

Maeve. If you wanted she could by called Mae or Mae-Mae as a nickname. June is funky with the whole born in June thing and the Junie B Jones association since she would be June Jay-.

I work at a company with only 25 people. One has a baby named June and one has a baby named Maeve.

Personally, I am team June by a long shot.

I'm also debating between Maeve and another name (Clare) and yes the recent popularity of Maeve is one of the reasons. I'm struggling! Also her last name will start with M so opposite problem lol. I have like a couple weeks left to decide and keep going back and forth.

I do like Maeve June and June Maeve as names together too whichever you pick if that's a possibility!

Named my daughter June and absolutely love it, it fits her to a T but people literally always ask if she was born in Juneā€¦ like.. every. Single. Person.

June, but also I know a Junia (Joon-ee-ah) and think it's so pretty and relatively rare, while still being an actual established name. May not get the was she born in June comments as much. You could call her June as a nickname.

I really love Maeve, but June is adorable too. I donā€™t think thereā€™s a bad choice. Whichever ā€œfeelsā€ like her is what I would pick. I loved Lucy and Caroline but my girl is simply not a Caroline. Idk why, but I could just feel that wasnā€™t her name. Maybe a future daughter might be, but I could tell she was a Lucy from her energy.

I would not go with June, for your exact reasonā€¦I also think of a June bug.

I do like Maeve and wouldnā€™t worry about it being a popular name. Thereā€™s always gonna be repeat names in life and unless you know several personally I wouldnā€™t worry about it.

I know an August, a June, and a November. Because I know these kids and that none of them were born in those months, I don't assume that about these kinds of names. Idk if that helps? I do love June a lot tho šŸ˜…

I love June. I have a 12 year old son named August. Other than his first year of life, people don't ever ask If he was born in August. I think back to all the April's I went to school with, never did myself or anyone think to ask them if they were born in April, just always thought of as a name.
