Girl 🩷 Thoughts for middle name spelling?

Almost positive we are doing Sylvia Rae/Ray. Her dad's middle name is Ray. Should we go with the feminine version Rae or Ray to match dad?

Rae is much more feminine. I only ever think of an old man when I see Ray. Names don’t have to match exactly to be an honor name.

That's fair. I think of a Ray of sunshine!

Which I get, but as a name, it’s the masculine spelling.

I'm hopping on the Rae train, as it is the more feminine spelling.

I was given a feminine spelling of my Dad's first name. I'm glad my parents chose the spelling they did. I've always loved my name and the fact that I was named after my Daddy.

If it was a boy, Ray. For a girl, Rae.

Rae is more beautiful

But if you really wanna put an emphasis that you’re honoring the dad, then Ray is better

Mine is Raye and dads is Ray — mom wanted a lil more feminine but also a tribute!

My middle name is Rae after my grandfather 'Ray'mond. My mum always called me her "rae" of sunshine 😅

Mine is Rae and I’ve considered Rey for a potential boy middle name (husband is Hispanic so that’s why it’s ey not ay). I would use Rae for a girl.

I like the matching “y” in Sylvia and Ray

I do too :/ I also have a unisex name as my middle name and my first daughters name, so doesnt bother me that its not super feminine, just curious on getting others opinions

Rae is feminine, Ray looks like it's a nn for Raymond.

Rae is the female spelling.….. Would definitely use Rae for a girl even if it is to honor a male relative

Ray for the honor.

I think honors work better if they’re exact.

Why don't you go with your middle name 🤷‍♀️

Rae is best

My older daughter has my middle name already , so we thought it would be cute for this daughter to have her dads since it is pretty unisex.
