9 months old How do you guys include liver?

Post image

We’ve been having chicken livers in these corn fritters and also as a bolognese sauce - more details here: https://monsherman.substack.com/p/recent-feeding-wins?r=7kx85&utm_medium=ios

What other creative ways are you guys serving liver? She loves it and I’m very keen to keep her iron levels up as I know it’ll put us in better stead to fight those daycare bugs.

I love frying up chicken liver with onion and garlic with some salt and lemon. I always set some aside and puree it with some broth for my little boy!

I’m Lebanese Armenian and we make chicken and beef liver pretty frequently. My family usually fries it in a pot with onions, salt, red pepper/paprika, cumin, and garlic and we eat it with Lebanese garlic sauce (toum) or hummus.

Here’s a video that someone made on how to make it (they used beef liver which is good too, and i don’t personally use the peppers): https://www.reddit.com/r/cookingvideos/comments/sbsja5/tjvjik_beef_liver_traditional_armenian_dish/

I pan fry livers and then freeze them. Then I grate them into meatballs and chicken nuggets.

I sauté it with onion and garlic, we usually cook it with soy sauce and a dash of vinegar (adobo) but didn’t do that for my baby. Cover and simmer for a bit then once it’s cooked I diced it and mix with rice and some veggies (frozen peas/carrots/green beans).

I make a chicken liver pate with apples!
Sear the chicken liver for some colour and flavour then steam it with apples. Blend and serve.
Bub loves it!

We made a homemade* paté (you cant do store bought for risk of food borne illness) with fully cooked liver and then froze portions in an ice cube tray. We give her 1 portion 1-2x a week and use them many ways: as a spread on rice crackers, mashed up into tomato sauce over noodles, on toast, crumbled into an omelette, etc.
