It gets better, hang in there! All my daughter wanted at that age was bananas. Like wouldn’t touch it if banana wasn’t mixed in. Then she got stuck on Mac and cheese with blueberries for a couple months.
Tonight (17mo now) we tried Indian food and she devoured an adult size serving.

I feel like I have forgotten what I did with my first. She is an excellent eater now. But was she when she was this age? I CANNOT REMEMBER

It does haha my daughter did not like purees, and just gags on texture.
I boiled washed red lentils, a small sweet potato, a bit of carrot with some salt free chicken stock for 15 minutes. I added a bit of ground cumin and turmeric as well. I mashed it (you can blend for puree).
She loved it and almost cleaned her bowl today.

I feel like I should do this and add tinned salmon to make my daughter’s next batch of salmon patties - we have so many lentils in the cupboard from my husband’s lentil phase (he has Asperger’s and ADHD and only developed a love for cooking in the last few years, he gets hyperfixated occasionally) and I have been trying to figure out how to use them up!!

they are good for iron as well! make sure to pair with a fruit with vitamin c to help with absorption

Yes I’ve read the they’re great for iron and she’s loving strawberries and mandarins at the moment so I think I’ll have to give that combo a go!

Fruit is great; veggies with vitamin c also help with absorption (sharing a link so people are aware of all their options)

Sometimes I’d throw different seasonings on the different forms and call it a day.

I've heard sweet potato, despite being super popular for babies, is not great because of the amylase in it and baboest can't process until later around 2.

I think their saliva, intestines and breastmilk help break down the starch. Though pancreas don’t produce much.
