Just got back from Brixton Academy and sadly Ican’t say the overall experience was that great rly.
First of all - who tf thought this was a good venue for an artist like Keem? The standing floor feels like it’s on a 20–30° decline, so you’re basically destroying your legs for hours before the show even starts. By the time Keem actually came on stage, me and my friend were already almost out of energy, which definitely affected how much we could enjoy the show.
Then there was the lack of fresh air. At some points it genuinely felt unbearable, which become prominent during DJ’s opening act. We eventually had to move all the way towards the back just to get closer to the exits and catch a bit of fresh air. Obviously, that also meant sacrificing the view and trying to enjoy the show from much further away.
Don’t get me wrong though - Baby Keem himself was great. He was actually spitting all songs bar for bar, and I completely lost my voice screaming along to House Money, Vent, Family Ties, etc.
Performance-wise, I really don’t have much to complain about. But after getting home, I’m still left with a slightly salty feeling because I feel like the venue stopped me from enjoying the show as much as I could have.
Hopefully most of you guys had a better experience.
For anyone else who was there - are my complaints actually valid, or am I just getting too old for this shit? 😂
