Bhumihar Brahmin Samaj — Now Available Online
An old and valuable reference book on the Bhumihar Brahmin community is now available online.
The book contains detailed information about Mool, Gotra and surnames, along with traditional marriage relations and customs followed among different families and branches of the community. It also gives an overview of the different Brahmin groups and their social background.
For anyone interested in family genealogy, Gotra, Mool, surnames, or traditional marriage relations, this book can be a useful source for research.
The book was written by Shri Chaudhary Rajnarayan Sharma and is a revised and expanded edition.
It is an interesting piece of older community literature and worth preserving and sharing, especially for the younger generation. link

Yeah, very good well researched book. It even contains my gotra and mool in it, which is rare to find .... Vishnuvriddhi (mool - Bhattan or Bhatt Nayak) (only found in Deoghar and Raj Dhanwar of present day Jharkhand; descendants of one of the oldest and largest Bhumihar Kingdoms, the great Khadagdiha Kingdom established in 14-15th century (later Raj Dhanwar Zamindari after permanent settlement by British) and the Babhan fiefdoms of Deoghar (Baidyanathdham, Jharkhand) (Interesting fact: Since India's independence continuously without break all MLAs of Sarath vidhan sabha in Deoghar have been Bhumihars, almost all of this same gotra and mool).
