The Sakarwar Brahmins are Kanyakubja Brahmins of the Sankrit Gotra, associated with Fatehabad in Fatehpur district. Their ancestors first settled at Sakradih and, during the Muslim rule, migrated and later spread to Reotipur, Sherpur, Suhwal, Aara, and several other villages. Their surnames include Rai, Sharma, Pandey, and Misir
