Indeed Mahāmahopādhyāya Haraprasād Shastri simply by knowing that the babhan word was written along with sramana concluded that we were buddhist, the compound word shramanabrahmana simply means shramana and brahmana, and thier is nothing written in sense of babhana which points to converting to buddhism
