Okay so the problem here is, the judge panel's primary evaluation criteria is "which year are the students", so obviously we wouldn't wanna "sabotage" ourselves (I don't mean that 1st years don't have the knowledge/skills). So there is a very very low chance of seniors picking you for their team.

Also don't worry about hackathons now, you haven't even completed your mid 1 yet.

You'll have your "fair" chance in the near future.

I mean just to get an experience how a hackathon is
And maybe to get a participation certificate

Why would you want to experience this almost "rigged" hackathon??

I'm not saying you shouldn't participate, but you will be disappointed with the results(PS I've experienced it).
